Project Description
The Assignment:
Back in the Fall of 2002, JD Milazzo and Falcon founded The House of NyghtFalcon. Their vision was simple – “See the world again. For the first time.” In the Fall of 2018, Falcon began a journey to rekindle his passion for photography which had largely been lost under the demands of life as a professional.
The Result:
Falcon purchased three vintage camera lenses once used on the Pentax 6×7 camera. Falcon believed that his best recourse for rekindling his creativity and his love for photography was to force himself to reengage the world and himself. These are some of the images he has created on his journey back to his roots. Using vintage lenses changed the way Falcon engaged the world. Primitive by modern standards, almost ironically, being forced to work without autofocus and other aspects of modern lenses enabled Falcon to get paste the limits of advanced technology. “Vintage lenses,” Falcon said, “brought me back to world in which I began doing photography.” An article on how to purchase vintage lenses can be found here, on our blog.
